NEW YORK ACTING SCHOOLS : WANT TO BECOME AN ACTOR? ARE YOU CONSIDERING JOINING US? CLICK HERE

A message from Ted Bardy:

Students at The Ted Bardy Studio do not come here to just ”take some acting classes,” they come here to really learn the craft of acting.

There are many New York acting schools offering acting classes. Some have been around for several decades, have large impersonal classes, and lure you in by capitalizing on the accomplishments of past students who have gone on to fame and fortune. If you’ve been teaching for 40 years or more, as some of these teachers have, and have a school that is more like a factory than a learning institution, then you better have some “hits” come out of your school. And, for business reasons, you may wish to treat the individuals who have met with some success as commodities.

We choose to not operate our school this way. We have a different, more intimate approach, and a different philosophy altogether. We do have “stars” coming out of the Studio, but we try not to capitalize on the success of these individuals. After all, one of our main priorities is to empower our Students. From a business point of view, I’d rather use the name of a celebrity producer or director I know, or have worked with, to attract attention to the Studio than claim responsibility for the hard work an individual has put in to achieving his or her goals.  And yes, at our Studio, you will learn the joy of performing on stage, in front of an audience in the Studio’s 50-seat performance space. Yes, you will be thrilled to work in front of our hi-def cameras and see your work projected for an audience on our 50-inch hi-def tv/monitor in our camera studio. But we also hope you will experience the joy of re-defining yourself as an Artist. And you will work hard to earn that label: “Artist.”
